Addison Mae Carter

Here are some pics as promised, though most of the ones from her birth are on Kelsey's camera, so I will upload those later. Most of these pics are just ones we took today. Both Candice and Addison are still doing great and will come home tomorrow. Enjoy...

It's a girl!!!

Normally I leave the blogging up to my adorable wife, however, she is currently otherwise occupied and not able to make an update.

Thursday morning (4/15/10) at 4:50AM, I woke up suddenly to a sharp pain in my arm. I soon realized that I was experience contractions for the second time in my life. Lucky for me, the only pain I felt from the contractions was coming from Candice's stronger than usual grip that seized upon me every ten minutes. We figured we had plenty of time, so we both took showers, though apparently mine was too long since she started having contractions every 3 minutes.

We quickly finished getting ready and sped off. We dropped Kinnedi off at her Grandma Jensen's and we went to the hospital.

When we got there, Candice was Dialated to a 6 (I think), was 100% effaced, and was about ready to go.

She slowly progressed from a 6 to a 7, to an 8, to an 81/2, to a 9, to a 93/4, and finally to a 10. Yay!

At this point, I figured it would be smooth sailing, especially since Candice had her epideral and could hardly feel a thing. Once again, our daughters proved their stubbornness as Candice pushed for over 2 hours trying to get the baby through her small pelvis.

Finally, the doctor arrived and was able to get her out using forcepts. Addison (Add-A-Son) Mae Carter was finally born at 3:54PM. She weighed a whopping 8 pounds 4 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

We all thought that she would have weighed less, even the doctor thought she would come in under 8 pounds, though I guess that extra week in the uterus let her grow a bit more. Candice was just glad she came out under 10 pounds since I told her that if she weighed over ten, we would have to name her Olga.

Anyway, Candice and the baby are both doing great, though Candice is understandable exausted.

I am just so grateful for my wonderful wife Candice and our two adorable little girls.

I know you probably just skimmed this to see how much she weighed etc and are probably wondering where the pictures are. It is very late and I need some sleep, and the camera is at the hospital, so I will upload some pics soon. Until then, you will just have to take my word that she is one cute little girly.

The Aquarium

Yesterday, Kinnedi and I went to the Aquarium with My Mom, Emma and Aunt Tammy and her kids. It was a lot of fun, but it was also really crazy, lots of kids because of Spring Break.
Emma and Kinnedi looking at some fish.
They were so excited to touch the sting ray. I think they liked the water more.
Cheese!
Riding in the Canoe.
We wanted to kids to pose, and Collin said this is how you pose.
Emma and Kinnedi were so excited to see the Penguins.
The Penguins were a lot of fun. They were so active, kept jumping in the water and showing off.

Kinnedi wouldn't cooperate, she wanted to stand in front of the Penguin.

Had to get a picture on this Giant Frog.

We went to Discovery Gateway today, it was free for St. Patricks day. What the heck was I thinking. I thought maybe because it was the middle of the week, there wouldn't be as many people, and I thought going early would be a good idea less people. Man was I wrong when things are free everyone goes for it. It was so packed with kids everywhere. It is a really cute place to go but I think it would be a lot more fun with less kids running around. It was also hard because all the kids looked the same, all in Green for the Holiday and I swear there were tons of pregnant women there. Poor Trent, he might of gone home with the wrong wife and kid.

Kinnedi was trying to back up, there were too many kids.
Kinnedi and daddy playing with toys.
I told Kinnedi to go sit on the cute chair, and this little boy in the picture heard me and ran as fast as he could to try and beat her, as you can see she beat him.
Climbing on the tree house.
Now, where does the carrot go?
Trying to get a drink or soaked?
Kinnedi would watch the water, and look to see where it would come out next, she got a little wet, so did Trent.

The Park

The other day it hit 52 degrees outside, which isn't super warm but warm enough. We were ready to get outside and play. We took Kinnedi to West Jordan park. We had a lot of fun. It had rained the day before, but that didn't seem to stop Kinnedi at all.
Out little Monkey.
Up and down the slide over and over. Kinnedi did not want to home.
Trent even had a blast.

Digging for some dirt.
Riding on the horse. Kinnedi would say YEEHAW!!
One last time before we go home. She threw a fit, "no leave park, No bye bye". It was sad but we will come again.
